I am a Sign Language Interpreter...I've been called a signer....a deaf interpreter...and today for the first time I was called a hand linguist. I think I like that one the best...it sounds classy ;)
That is a good one. Certainly better than others. I recently had a nurse call me the patient's "helper". My grandma will always think I'm a teacher however : )
I love 'hand linguist'.. I think you should up your rate with that kind of title. should i raise mine when people say..."oh you do that hand floppy thing"...
I am 34 years old. I am a Long Islander (that's New York for the geographically challenged). I moved to Mississippi from Minnesota three years ago. I travel a lot even with my new baby in tow. I am always on the go hence the nomadic life of Sarah.
Well let me sarah-fy...heehee, I mean clarify. At the office I was originally known as "Five Second Sarah". It's not what you think! Apparently, it takes a minimum of five seconds for things to register in this brain of mine. After a while my co-workers didn't even want to wait that long, so they would go into long explanations until it finally "clicked". This process became known as "Sarah-fication".
